The City of Montrose is requesting formal bids through the Invitation for Bid process to replace portions of the deck and remove char on a recreation trail pedestrian bridge over the Uncompahgre River approximately 1,000 feet south of the intersection of Rio-Grande Avenue and East Oak Grove. A fire on March 27, 2018 engulfed the northernmost span and compromised the deck and guardrail structure. A mandatory pre-bid meeting will be held on April 18, 2018, 2:00 PM at the bridge site. Bidders may park at the trailhead lot located at the intersection of Rio-Grande Avenue and East Oak Grove Road to access the site. Bids will be publicly received and registered on April 23, 2018 at 2:00 PM Montrose City Hall, 433 South First Street, Montrose, CO 81401. Late bids will not be accepted and it is the responsibility of the bidders to ensure that bids (including signed addenda) arrive in the city's purchasing office by 2:00 PM on the date listed above.
