Hydrant Work Planned for Tuesday/Wednesday Nights

Montrose, CO — Crews with the City of Montrose Utility Department will be replacing two fire hydrants along South Townsend Ave beginning Tuesday evening, August 6, and ending Wednesday evening, August 7.

The hydrants are located at Spruce Street and South Townsend and South 7th Street and South Townsend.

Starting at approximately 8 p.m. Tuesday and Wednesday evenings, southbound traffic will be limited to one lane and will be rerouted around the work areas. Normal traffic should resume by 8 a.m. through the use of temporary street plates covering the work area while the backfill material hardens.

Street patchwork has an anticipated completion date of August 15 and will require additional traffic control.
