City Preparing For AmeriCorps Volunteer Work

Montrose, CO — The City Montrose and Habitat for Humanity of the San Juans have partnered to bring AmeriCorps NCCC volunteers to Montrose to help with clean-up efforts in the Tortilla Flats area.

The work crews will be in town from May 29 through July 13. Applications for neighborhood clean-up work are currently being taken on a first-come, first served basis due to limited supplies.

Applications are available online at http://bit.ly/NeighborhoodCleanUp, or at City Hall (433 South First Street) during normal business hours (7 a.m. to 6 p.m., Monday through Thursday). Applications can also be found at Habitat for Humanity of the San Juans (1601 North Townsend Avenue) between 9 a.m. and 5:30 p.m., Monday through Saturday.

Anyone with questions about the program or in need of help filling out an application can contact Alvino Trujillo at Habitat for Humanity of the San Juans at 970.252.9303 or via email at alvino@buildinglives.org. The application is in both English and Spanish.
