City Earns Certified Healthy Workplace Distinction

Montrose, CO — The City of Montrose is participating in a one-year study looking into the overall health and safety culture in the organization after the city earned the distinction of being a Certified Healthy Workplace.

The designation comes after the City of Montrose last year earned the 2018 Governor’s Healthiest Community Award. The Colorado School of Public Health’s Center for Health, Work and Environment, in partnership with Health Links, is working with city administrators to assess existing conditions and make recommendations for achieving a healthier workplace throughout the city.

Health Links is a mentoring program that works with various organizations with the goal of improving overall employee health and safety.

"We are excited about this certification and look forward to working with Health Links to improve our health and safety culture,” Director of Human Resources Terri Wilcox said. “Being a Healthy Workplace really means supporting our employees and their families to help them in making choices that can improve their health and well-being."

City employees are being asked to participate in a voluntary Health Links Colorado online survey to provide anonymous insight about the workplace at the City of Montrose.
