Grow Healthy Food and Relationships at the
Community Garden

2019 Applications Now Available

Montrose, CO –  The community-based organic garden located at 2424 E. Niagara Road, is entering its sixth season and is open to any individual, group or family for participation, whether experienced in gardening or not. Applications to take part in the 2019 Niagara Community Garden are now available.

The garden will be open from April 13 to November 9. Plots are available on a first-come-first-served basis and range in cost from $15 to $30 depending on size. Water and soil are included in the fee. There is a $25 deposit per plot.

The city is committed to promoting quality of life, in part by providing outdoor living and recreational opportunities. As part of this commitment, in 2014 the City of Montrose Public Works Department, LiveWell Montrose-Olathe, and the Valley Food Partnership joined forces to construct the Niagara Community Garden on East Niagara Road.

Contact Valley Food Partnership and LiveWell Montrose Olathe at 970.249.0705 to learn about other gardens in our community and opportunities to volunteer. Citizens who are interested in constructing gardens in other parts of Montrose are encouraged to contact city staff.

Community Garden Applications may be picked up at City Hall located at 433 S. First Street from  7 a.m. to 6 p.m., Monday through Thursday.
