Montrose, CO – Contractors working for the City of Montrose will begin paving Niagara Road this week, which will force the closure of the southbound lane of Hillcrest Drive for equipment to mill and pave the intersection at Hillcrest and Niagara. 

The southbound lane of Hillcrest from the roundabout at Sunnyside Road to Niagara Road will be closed throughout the work. The northbound lane of Hillcrest will remain open. 

Contractors will be paving the west bound lanes of Niagara west to Townsend Avenue. Local traffic and business access will remain open on Niagara. Alternating lane closures will reroute eastbound traffic for the entire road to be paved. 

In additionally work to repave the driving surface of South Rio Grande Avenue from West Main Street to South Third Street. South Third Street will remain open.

Traffic Detours: 
Northbound traffic will be detoured to South 3rd Street.
Southbound traffic to South Grand Avenue.
South 1st Street will be closed at South Rio Grande Avenue.
South 2nd Street will be closed at South Rio Grande Avenue. 

This work is expected to last through the week of September 10th. Access to nearby businesses will remain open.
