Project Advisory - Downtown Pavement Maintenance 

The City of Montrose Public Works Department will soon begin preventative asphalt maintenance on the public parking lot adjacent to the intersection of N First Street and Selig Avenue as well as a portion of N First Street between Uncompahgre and Park Avenues.

Maintenance will include removal of old striping, sweeping, application of high-density mineral bond, and restriping. High-density mineral bond is applied to the surface of asphalt pavements and requires time to cure after application.

Removal of pavement markings will begin today, requiring lane shifts along N First but no closures.  Application of the high-density mineral bond will begin on Wednesday, July 12, and will require a full closure of the project areas until after striping has been replaced on Thursday, July 13. Please respect all signs and coned off areas during maintenance activities. 

The parking lot at N First Street and Uncompahgre Avenue will remain open for use during the project and may be accessed via Uncompahgre.
