Community Housing Survey for Housing Needs Assessment
Montrose, CO — The City of Montrose, in collaboration with Points Consulting, is seeking public feedback and participation in a housing needs assessment designed to evaluate current housing conditions and needs throughout the Montrose community.
As part of the housing needs assessment, a community housing survey was developed to obtain community feedback and encourage citizen participation.
This survey is now available online at www.surveylegend.com/s/4ncj. The survey will be open to gather public feedback until Thursday, February 9. The survey is available in both English and Spanish, and survey responses are anonymous.
City Planning Manager Jace Hochwalt said the housing assessment, along with results from the community survey, will help local housing officials make projections of future housing needs and provide recommendations for policies, practices, and regulatory changes that can be implemented to address gaps between housing need and supply.
Hochwalt said public engagement is critical in finding solutions to local housing issues. Therefore, city staff will be hosting a public open house to promote the community housing survey and its importance, as well as provide a status update on the housing needs assessment and what the next steps will be.
This meeting will be held Wednesday, January 18, at 6 pm. in the Centennial Conference Room in the City Hall Annex building located at 433 S. First Street. Access to this room is from Centennial Plaza.
For more information about the housing needs assessment, contact Jace Hochwalt at 970.240.1478 or at jhochwalt@cityofmontrose.org.
