City Offices to Close on Indigenous Peoples’ Day Oct 10
Montrose, CO — The City of Montrose will be closed Monday, October 10, in observance of Indigenous Peoples’ Day, formerly known as Columbus Day. City Hall, the Downtown Visitor Center, Municipal Court, Animal Shelter, Montrose Pavilion, and Public Works will all close in observance of the holiday.
Police Department offices will be closed, however, officers will be on duty and responding to calls.
The Black Canyon Golf Course and the snack bar will be open, however, The Rusty Putter restaurant will be closed.
The city’s trash and recycling collection schedule for the holiday week has been modified. For trash routes normally scheduled for Monday, October 10, residences south of San Juan Avenue and U.S. Highway 50 will receive trash collection services on Tuesday, October 11. For residences north of San Juan Avenue and U.S. Highway 50, trash pickup will occur on Wednesday, October 12.
Recycling collections normally scheduled for Monday, October 10, will occur on Friday, October 14.
