*** UPDATE: Montrose Teen Found Safe ***

Montrose, CO — The Montrose Police Department is pleased to announce that the 17-year-old missing and endangered female from Montrose has been found safe and is currently in law enforcement custody. 

Montrose Police Department received information earlier this morning that a 17 year old juvenile female was missing and taken against her will. We immediately acted and brought in our local, state, and federal partners, namely the FBI, Colorado Bureau of Investigations, and the Colorado State Patrol. 

A Missing and Endangered Alert was initiated through the CBI. Through a joint investigation the juvenile was located near Limon, Colorado, by the Limon Police Department. The investigation into her alleged abduction is ongoing, however, at this time we can say she is safe and unharmed.  

"I would like to thank the Limon Police Department, Colorado State Patrol, CBI, and the FBI, and all the other agencies that helped locate her. Finally, an additional thank you to the public who shared this information over 1,100 times on social media, helping us locate her," Montrose Police Chief Blaine Hall said. "As you can imagine when your child goes missing under these circumstances, this can be a harrowing experience for everyone involved especially the victim's family. We are so thankful she is safe and will work to get her reunited with her parents as soon as possible."
