Montrose Youth City Council Leads Effort to Collect
2070 Time Capsule Items
Montrose, CO — The Montrose Youth City Council is excited to invite Montrose residents of all ages to participate in providing items for the 2070 Montrose Time Capsule. The donated items will preserve a snapshot of our present time for those who open the capsule 50 years from now. Items that may be submitted include, but are not limited to, photos, letters, current technology, or any appropriate small item that represents Montrose and our present time.
Items will be collected in drop boxes at the Montrose Recreation Center, Montrose City Hall, and the Montrose County Courthouse. The closing date for submitting items is December 18. Items given to Youth City Council to be placed in the time capsule will not be returned.
The Montrose Youth City Council was established by the Montrose City Council to encourage greater youth participation in the city’s government, and is charged with actively advising the City Council with thoughtful recommendations on issues concerning youth and assisting city staff in considering youth perspectives in its planning efforts.
The Youth Council meets every Wednesday from 3 to 4 p.m. via Google Meet.
