City Hosting Public Meeting To Discuss Local Sales Taxes

Montrose, CO — The City of Montrose is hosting a community meeting to present and discuss information related to the role of local sales taxes and how they apply to groceries. The public is encouraged to attend.

The meeting will be held Monday, January 20, at 6:30 p.m. in the City Council Chambers located at 107 South Cascade Ave.

The meeting is an opportunity for local residents to become informed about the structure of local sales taxes in the funding of local governments, and discuss the role of sales taxes related to groceries.

Members of City Council, along with city staff members, will be in attendance. City staff will give a presentation related to the past and current state of sales tax funding in Montrose, followed by an interactive opportunity for attendees to ask questions and share ideas.
