Waterline Improvements Along Miami Road to Begin January 6
Montrose, CO – Beginning Monday, January 6, 2020, the City of Montrose will close Miami Road between US Highway 50 and 6800 Road to install a new 24-inch waterline. The closure is expected to continue into April 2020.
The city will establish a detour route and maintain access to local residences and the Museum of the Mountain West throughout construction.
The project is part of a multi-year effort to improve city water infrastructure that transports water from the main Project 7 supply line at Highway 50 to the Sunnyside Tank. The project was identified as a critical need in the city's Water Master Plan and has been implemented in phases since 2016.
In 2019 the city upsized an existing 12-inch line along 6800 Road between Miami and Sunnyside roads to a 24-inch line. The current phase of the project will upsize the remainder of the line along Miami Road between 6800 Road and Highway 50.
Any questions regarding the project may be directed to City Engineer Scott Murphy at 970.901.1792.
