Montrose, CO — Senior city staff and department heads met for hours Sunday to prepare the city for an emergency declaration to implement further preventive measures in response to the emerging COVID-19 threat.
The city will begin emergency operations Monday afternoon after a formal disaster declaration is completed. The declaration will help the city secure state and federal resources and to help limit the community’s exposure to COVID-19.
City staff worked to reassign and rearrange staff and responsibilities set to begin following the Monday declaration. The goal is to continue city services while limiting contact with city employees.
More information about these changes will be released in the coming days.
