The goal of the city's Community Kick-Off Meetings, the first public events for the Envision 2040 Montrose Comprehensive Plan process, was to gather input on community vision and values. After the meetings, an online survey was created to provide additional opportunities for the public to provide feedback on the same questions that were asked at the Community Kick-Off Meetings. The online survey was available in both English and Spanish from mid-June through the end of August 2019.
During the summer of 2019, the City of Montrose provided a variety of additional outreach opportunities to seek community input on vision, values, and community needs for development of the Envision 2040 Montrose Comprehensive Plan. This included "pennies in a jar" exercises at community events such as Farmer's Market, Acoustic Tuesdays, FUNC Festival, and Youth Appreciation Day. The City also conducted an online stakeholder survey that was sent out to approximately 100 key stakeholders.
Feedback received via the public meetings and online survey will help guide the development of the future vision, goals, and recommendations for the final Envision 2040 Montrose Comprehensive Plan.
The total number of individuals that participated in the English survey was 159. For the open-ended questions, the city received more than 1000 comments, an average of three comments per question.
