Montrose, CO — The City of Montrose is preparing for a fun and safe Fourth of July holiday with its annual parade and fireworks show. City staff, with direction from the Montrose Fire Protection District, has made preparations around the launch site on Sunset Mesa. The fireworks show is scheduled after dusk Wednesday, July 4th.
The parade is scheduled to begin on historic Main Street at 10 a.m. traveling from North Pythian Ave to South Rio Grande Ave.
The day’s celebration will conclude with a city-sponsored fireworks display from Sunset Mesa. The display can be seen close up in the immediate vicinity of the Baldridge Regional Park Complex (Riverbottom, Sunset Mesa, and Cerise parks).
Members of the fire department will have staff and trucks on hand as a precaution. A representative of J&M Displays, the company in charge of the fireworks show, told the city that the only factor that could cancel the show was any possible high winds before show time.
