Ed Ulibarri was born in 1948 in Montrose, Colorado. Mr. Ulibarri attended grade school in Montrose at Northside Elementary, and attended Junior High at Columbine Junior High School and graduated from Montrose High School with the class of 1966. Mr. Ulibarri then attended Ventura California College and received a vocational certificate in construction technology.
He is married to wife, Susan has one daughter Tracy Weller and three grandchildren, Michael, Katie and Saraha.
Mr. Ulibarri currently serves as president of MADA and as a member of the 7th Judicial District Commission.
He is a former member of the Rotary Club, is past Commander of American Legion, Post 73; sat on the Board of Directors for Colorado State Homebuilders Association; Board of Project 7; Consumer Advisory Board for DMEA; Montrose County Fair board, is an Elks Club member 20+ years and previously served on the City Council from 1998-2002; 2004-2008. In the past, Mr. Ulibarri served on Housing Board, Habitat for Humanity and the Senior Advisory Committee.
Mr. Ulibarri maintains a California contractor’s license, was a Member of National Association of Kitchen and Bath Designers; a member of International Conference of Building Officials, held certifications in both IRC and UBC Codebooks. He is a Certified Remodeler through the National Association of Remodelers.
Mr. Ulibarri owns and operates a construction company in Montrose called Sunnyside Homebuilders.
Mr. Ulibarri holds a fifth-degree black belt in Hapitkito and a fifth-degree black belt in TaeKwonDo. He enjoys cooking, landscaping, and teaching martial arts through the Rec Center.
