Electric Vehicle Charging Station

With electric vehicles becoming more prevalent in Colorado, the City of Montrose installed a free-to-use electric vehicle charging station at the public parking lot near Centennial Plaza at 501 S. First Street. The station is equipped with a dual-cord, Level 2 charger with an estimated 10-20 miles per hour of charge, depending on your vehicle.

The downtown location affords users of the station plenty to do while they are topping off their car. We hear from many visitors who tell us they decided to stop in Montrose and spend time shopping or relaxing at one of our restaurants downtown because of the charging station.

Additional charging stations are located at Montrose Memorial Hospital and the Montrose Community Recreation Center. See the interactive map below for specific charging station information.

The Regional Air Quality Council and the Colorado Energy Office (CEO) have teamed up to provide financial support for electric vehicles (EVs) and electric vehicle supply equipment (EV charging stations) in an effort to improve air quality and encourage deployment of electric vehicles across the state of Colorado.  The City of Montrose purchased the station with a grant from the CEO as part of its Charge Ahead Colorado program.
