Join the Celebration!

Montrose residents have an opportunity to express pride of community by participating in the city’s 2018 celebration of Colorado Cities & Towns week (September 10-16). Enthusiasts can take part in a number of ways.

Coloring Contest

First, children age ten and younger can enter a coloring contest about our cities and towns by completing a fun activity book provided by the Colorado Municipal League. These activity books are available for pickup at the Downtown Visitor Center (107 S. Cascade, 9:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.) on Monday, September 10. To enter the contest, children complete the booklet and return it to the Visitor Center. Entries must be received at the Visitor Center by noon on Thursday, September 13, to be eligible for prizes. The activity books will be judged on creativity, and first and second prize winners will be chosen. First prize wins $25 in Montrose Bucks and Second Prize is awarded $10 in Montrose Bucks.

Get to Know City Staff

Residents are also encouraged to visit their city facilities for a Meet and Greet event with city staff over the course of the week (Monday – Thursday). Each day, a different city facility will host a meet and greet event with free coffee and donuts and provide an informal opportunity to talk with your city employees. This event will be from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at each facility on its designated day and is open to all residents:

  • Monday – Downtown Visitor Center (107 S. Cascade Ave)
  • Tuesday – City of Montrose Police Department (434 S. 1st St)
  • Wednesday – City of Montrose Public Works Facility (1221 6450 Rd)
