Police reports can be requested using a downloadable PDF or via an online form.
The Montrose Police Department has partnered with Carfax to provide quick and convenient online access to accident reports. If a report is not available on Carfax, please use the online form.
Non-criminal accident reports are available online from January 2020 to present.
Fees are $10 per report and require a Montrose Police Department incident number, date of the accident, involved party's last name, and a valid credit card.
Please note: Reports for traffic accidents that involve fatalities will not be available online. Incident reports related to an accident report, such as a DUI, will not be available online. These reports must be requested through the Montrose Police Department.
Documents provided in response to an Open Records Request may be edited in accordance with the Colorado Open Records Law (C.R.S. 24-72-112 through 24-72-402).
C.R.S. 24-72.305.5 shall not be used for direct solicitation of business or for pecuniary gain.
C.R.S 24-72-309 Violation - penalty. Any person who willfully and knowingly violates the provisions of this part 3 is guilty of a misdemeanor and, upon conviction thereof, shall be punished by a fine of not more than one hundred dollars, or by imprisonment in the county jail for not more than ninety days, or both such fine and imprisonment.
