Adopt-a-Street/Trail Program

Adopt a Street GraphicIndividuals who are interested in helping to keep Montrose clean are invited to participate in the "Clean Up Montrose" street or trail adoption program. The program is a way to keep the city clean while recognizing the efforts of the participants.

Groups and individuals can participate by adopting one of the designated streets or trails within the city limits. The program is modeled after the CDOT Adopt-a-Highway program and includes signage as well as supplies such as trash bags, gloves, and safety vests.

How You Can Be a Part of the Program

The application process is simple, and there is no cost to participate. Groups are required to adopt approximately one mile, depending on the street or trail selected, and commit to cleaning up their section twice a year. All participants must view two short safety videos and read the rules and regulations that accompany the program application.

The Adopt-a-Street and the Adopt-a-Trail maps show the streets and trails that are available for adoption and those that have already been assigned. Please verify street availability prior to completing the application form by calling 970-240-1480.
