District II - Ed Ulibarri
Ed Ulibarri was born in 1948 in Montrose, attending Northside Elementary and Columbine Junior High School and graduating from Montrose High School with the class of 1966. Mr. Ulibarri then attended Ventura California College and received a vocational certificate in construction technology.
He and his wife Susan have one daughter, Tracy Weller, and three grandchildren, Michael, Katie, and Saraha.
Mr. Ulibarri currently serves as president of MADA and as a member of the 7th Judicial District Commission.
He is a former member of Rotary Club, a past Commander of American Legion Post 73, and sat on the Board of Directors for Colorado State Homebuilders Association, the board of Project 7, Consumer Advisory Board for DMEA, and the Montrose County Fair board. He has been an Elks Club member for 20+ years and served on the Montrose City Council from 1998-2002 and 2004-2008. In the past, Mr. Ulibarri served on Housing Board, Habitat for Humanity, and the Senior Advisory Committee.
Mr. Ulibarri maintains a California contractor’s license, was a Member of the National Association of Kitchen and Bath Designers; a member of the International Conference of Building Officials, and held certifications in both IRC and UBC Codebooks. He is a Certified Remodeler through the National Association of Remodelers.
He owns and operates Sunnyside Homebuilders, a construction company in Montrose.
Mr. Ulibarri holds a fifth-degree black belt in Hapitkito and a fifth-degree black belt in TaeKwonDo. He enjoys cooking, landscaping, and teaching martial arts through the Rec Center.
