Overview
The Montrose Police Department provides full-time School Resource Officers to work in local schools.  They are trained to function in the roles of Law Enforcement Officer, Teacher, and Counselor.

By being on a school campus full time, the school resource officers have the time, training, and opportunity to build relationships between youth and adults. These relationships establish important lines of communication that help to prevent crime and school violence.

The Montrose Police Department carefully selects each School Resource Officer based on their experience, personality, and motivation for applying.
