2012 Election
Overview
On April 3, 2012, the City of Montrose conducted a regular general election in order to elect qualified candidates to fill three City Council positions: District III (four-year term), District IV (four-year term), and an At-Large District (two-year term). The District Map provides detailed information about the district boundaries.

The election also included a ballot question for a sales tax increase to fund construction of a community recreation center by the Montrose Recreation District.  The question (People's Ordinance 2012-01) appeared on the ballot as a result of a citizen-based initiative petition.

The arrangements for City of Montrose elections are contained in Article III of the City Charter and in Title I, Chapter 17 of the Municipal Code.
