Line Locates
Before Digging
Call the Utility Notification Center of Colorado by dialing 811. The Center will provide assistance in locating all underground utilities, including:
- water and sewer lines
- electric lines
- gas pipes
- telephone cables
Be prepared to provide the street address, exact location of excavation, and nearest intersection. Notify the UNCC at least three days prior to digging, except in an emergency.
One-Call Notification System Act
The One-Call Notification System Act was passed into law in May 2000. This law requires that owners and operators of underground utilities in Colorado join the statewide one-call notification center (811).
The City of Montrose joined the statewide one-call center, making it convenient for our customers who plan on digging.
