Recruitment Process
Overview
Police recruit candidates apply and test with the department just as a certified officer would. The police department will pay salary and tuition to applicants that qualify into the program. In return, the recruit agrees to a two-year commitment with the Montrose Police Department after becoming Colorado POST (Peace Officer Standards and Training) certified through an accredited program.

The police recruit program has been very successful, benefiting both the Police Department and individuals interested in a law enforcement career. For more information about the recruit program and qualification requirements, call 970-240-1415.
