Sales Tax Licensing
Overview
Businesses that sell merchandise to customers within the city limits are required to obtain a sales tax license from the City. See the application packets below for filing information.
Businesses located inside city limits
To obtain a sales tax license for a business that is located inside the city limits, the following forms need to be submitted along with the $35.00 fee:
Businesses located outside city limits
To obtain a sales tax license for a business that is located outside the city limits, the following forms need to be submitted along with the $35.00 fee:
Home Occupation Businesses
To obtain a sales tax license for a business that is located inside the city limits and operated from the business owner's residence, the following forms need to be submitted along with the $35.00 fee:
Transient Vendors
To obtain a Transient Vendors License for a business that is operated inside the city limits for only a short period of time, the following forms need to be submitted along the $85.00 fee:
- Transient Vendors Application
- If selling along any City public right-of-way you will have to contact the City Clerkâs office.
- Letter of permission if parking on private property from the landowner.
- Surety bond of $1000.00
License Renewals
City sales tax licenses must be renewed each calendar year for a $15 fee. Renewal applications are included with the sales tax booklets. Renewal forms can also be downloaded and printed. Businesses that have renewed will receive their license by mail in late January.
