Main Street Striping Improvements

The City of Montrose Public Works Department will begin Main Street striping improvements in the 300, 400, and 500 blocks of Main Street on Thursday, April 20. Maintenance will include the removal of existing waterborne painted cross walks and directional arrows to accept the installation of thermoplastic paint.

Thermoplastic pavement markings extend the life of the marking, offering a higher level of visibility and durability when compared to traditional paint. Maintenance activities will require lane shifts and may include periodic lane and parking stall closures. To the extent possible, activities will take place during off-peak hours, including limited night time installation, in order to reduce the impact to daytime traffic flows.

Remaining parking and pavement markings in this area will also be repainted following the installation of thermoplastic markings. Please respect all signs and coned-off areas during maintenance activities.
