Montrose Improvement Team

Overview
The Montrose Improvement Team (MIT) is a citizen-based task force that works with city staff and elected officials to review, prioritize, and recommend capital projects for community enhancement, parks, trails and sidewalks, and public facilities. The City Council selects MIT members from a pool of applicants.

Capital Improvement Plan
The MIT produces a long-range plan that sets the city's direction for future capital improvement projects.  The projects contained in the 2012 Capital Improvement Plan were selected in response to the needs and demands of the public and in support of the long and short range goals of the City of Montrose.

A capital improvement is a major, non-routine expenditure for new construction, major equipment purchases, or improvement to existing buildings, facilities, land or infrastructure valued at $10,000 or more.

How You Can Participate
  • During each MIT cycle, Montrose residents are invited to submit their ideas for future projects.  Past project suggestions from residents, including children, have drawn attention to important needs in our community.
