Waste Water Treatment Plant Solar Array

BrightLeaf Power, a local company that manufactures high-efficiency commercial solar energy products, completed installation of a photovoltaic system at the city’s Waste Water Treatment Plant in May of 2013.  The system is expected to generate electric cost savings of nearly $8,000 annually and was accomplished with the help of a $231,000 grant from the Colorado Department of Local Affairs.

The city will use electrical energy generated by the new installation to offset grid consumption.
