The Montrose Public Art eXperience (PAX) aims to create a more pleasing visual environment, expand opportunities to experience quality works of art, and facilitate the development, acquisition, and display of art in Montrose’s public spaces. The PAX brochure and sculpture location map serves as a guide to exploring sculptures that are on display in downtown Montrose.

PAX is excited to unveil the 2013-2014 sculpture exhibit on Friday, October 4, 2013, 5 p.m. - 8:30 p.m. at the “Montrose Celebration of Art and Culture,” a special evening in downtown Montose, Colorado, celebrating art, music, culture, culinary delights, and fine spirits. Advance Tickets available at A+Y Design Gallery, Around the Corner Art Gallery, City Hall, The Canyon Gallery, The Riddled Raven, and SheShe Boutique.

The Montrose Public Art eXperience (PAX) is a partnership between the PAX volunteer board, the Downtown Development Authority (DDA), the City of Montrose, local business sponsors, and the public. Primary PAX sponsors for 2012-2013 are Around the Corner Art Gallery, City of Montrose, Downtown Development Association, Montrose Association of Commerce andTourism, and M.Y. Designs. “Friends of PAX” include Columbine Copy Center LLC, InDesign Signs, Megapixel Digital Imaging, Jill and Rick Myers, and Scott’s Printing and Design.

People’s Choice Award
Each year the public will have the opportunity to select the winner of the “People’s Choice Award.” A $500 cash prize and certificate awarded at the end of the exhibit year to the sculptor of the piece that receives the most votes. “People’s Choice” voting forms can be mailed or dropped off at City Hall, 433 South First Street, or mailed to:  PAX, c/o Montrose ACT, 1519 East Main Street, Montrose, CO  81401. Deadline to vote for the 2012-2013 exhibit is August 31, 2013.
